About this role

Welcome to the coolest fully remote job where you get to be a BIG contributor in a growing business that is passionate about marketing, remote lifestyle, adventure, and work/life balance! This Customer Marketing Expert role is one of the biggest/most exciting additions for 2022, and will be working closely with our client to shape the role. It requires daily ClickUp and Slack communication; integration into our 20-person marketing team and hands-on client work; management of all ClickUp Inbox/Tasks and First Page Email; monthly deliverables and reporting; weekly deliverables; and a lot of collaboration with cross-team members, specifically our Email Expert, Content Expert, Branding Expert, etc.

As the Customer Marketing Expert you will be responsible for:

  • Living / breathing and speaking to the following initiatives: customer experience, CRM segmentation, product data/analysis, customer journey, lifecycle marketing, retention, loyalty, churn rate, persona-based programs, and advocacy.
  • Understanding the complete marketing funnel and your funnel step: Growth (after purchase) and how we can support our mission and our clients’ customer growth metrics. 
  • Building out an entire customer journey: from first touchpoint online to all customer touchpoints after conversion
  • Owning content strategy for all marketing to our clients’ customers: blog posts, video storytelling, owned imagery for website, newsletters, email nurture (onboarding) etc and collaborate closely with the Content Expert, and Email Expert on achieving our goals

  • Working with internal data team to build out customer-focused metrics such as Lifetime Value, Retention, Average Order Value and Churn rate. Create methodologies to report on, reduce and improve these metrics.
  • Work hand-in-hand with our Brand Expert on our BIG “Championing the Customer” initiative to tell customer stories, record videos of customers, highlight their stories on social/website, and create customer “surprise and delight” moments through giveaways, grants, moderated groups, webinars, etc.

  • Think through new, exciting ways to achieve customer success by defining and launching new initiatives to:

    • Cross-Sell/Up-sell products by reviewing data for what products are underperforming and thinking through supporting marketing campaigns

    • Customer Dashboard Marketing: Building campaigns using CTAs in HubSpot that display in customer dashboards, thinking through ways to communicate & marketing through the dashboard; and how to continuously drive customer to our dashboard

    • SMS Marketing: Review the current customer notification campaigns in SMS (Twilio) and think through how we build out a full marketing program for SMS messages

    • Additional areas of focus and opportunity: Gathering Customer Reviews; Customer Surveys; Product Optimization

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5-10+ years of previous experience with customer marketing

  • 3-5 years experience using HubSpot, or a competitive marketing automation platform, and get inbound marketing certified through HubSpot before starting

  • Strong writing, editing, and client communication skills — reporting and presenting to leadership and clients regularly

  • Ability to collaborate with and speak to the product team and product cycle at a tech company
  • High attention to detail and dedication to accuracy / quality

  • Full-time freelancer/consultant and independent contractor (a 1099 employee)

  • A willingness to be part of a fully remote team and care about who you work with on the other side of the computer — participation in team-building video calls, Slack conversations, etc.

  • Must be available between the 10am-2pm CT hours (Slack or email for questions, but don’t have to be “at your desk” during those hours, necessarily)

Compensation Package:

Minimum annual salary of $80,000. You may also be entitled to receive a bonus and are entitled to benefits. See below for our standard outlined benefits for FTE + Extended team members.
