Pros & Cons of Coworking Spaces and How to Know if They're Right For You
Whether you were part of the massive shift to remote work in 2020, or you've been pursuing that...
Our founder leads First Page with empathy and radical candor — she will care deeply, and work to make you even better at your job through honest, frank feedback. Her passion is building a remote culture that is FUN (virtual events, coffee dates, awards and gifts of appreciation) without the B.S. that none of us like (yearly reviews, passive aggressive emails, and coworker competition). She also specifically focuses on building a team that is diverse while aligning team members with the jobs that they like to do and are best at. Want to work somewhere with these values? We'd love you to join our team — read on to hear more about our collective of remote marketers around the world.
First Page supports the #workfromanywhere and #havelaptopwilltravel life — work wherever makes you happy, and share your travels with us on our Slack channel.
After more than a decade of working in growth marketing, our founder realized her full-time startup job in an office was no longer serving her. She made the decision to leave her career in San Francisco, start First Page, and work remotely as an expat entrepreneur in Belize. She is now location independent, works all over the world (including from a sailboat, an RV, remote work trips such as Hacker Paradise, and Latin American countries such as Panama, Ecuador, Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, Colombia and Mexico!)
Her vision has always been to build First Page as a visionary leader for remote work brands and into a company where people can get a job to live their best remote lifestyle.
Hands down the best job I have had so far. So, open up a branch in the UK so I could join full time - and be yours forever :P Thank you for making working here a great great experience! I have nothing but gratitude and lots of appreciation for the way the company works overall.
I love working with FP! I think the people are great and Jeanna is one of the best leaders I've reported to in YEARS. I feel trusted and also like I have true flexibility and autonomy, but that I'm still supported and relied on by others.
I left Corporate America because leadership was truly awful - I knew great "bosses" were out there, and I have found that here. I love what I am learning and I feel valued. Thank you.
[Working for First Page] has been a perfect match for me so far. Love the team and work environment.
Having worked FT at agencies and freelance, I like the balance First Page has struck between the two. I really enjoy my work, and appreciate the trust and support I receive to get my work done.
In the best way possible I feel challenged and inspired working in tandem with the team. Having the opportunity to now manage a team member as things have grown exponentially in the last 2 years is exciting, with many new projects coming to fruition in the transition/growth.
I would just like to share that I think First Page does such a great job at being remote yet still providing and encouraging the colleague connections. I feel like I know a few people well without even meeting them in person and I look forward to connecting even more with others!
I love the culture. I also love the commitment to the remote work lifestyle, and knowing I can travel and work from anywhere. I also really like the team, and enjoy working with all those I interact with. I've truly loved my time with FP, and I really believe in the culture and values of the organization.
I love our work environment! I came from a passive, micromanaging work place so this is refreshing, but that has also been the biggest adjustment - which was a surprise to me.
When you join First Page as a full-time employee, we offer a competitive benefit package for you. First and foremost, we are reimagining what it means to be “full time,” and don’t believe in the outdated 40-hour, 5-day work week. We believe in more of a 32-hour work week, and how you work those are up to you. Work in the early mornings or the way late night — work during a “work week” Monday through Friday, or your weekends if you prefer it more quiet. Work from a house with a cat and mouse, work from a box with a fox, work here, work there and #workfromanywhere.
We're building out our benefit package now (as a young company) and are planning to provide the standard benefit package as a base:
HEALTH BENEFITS: Medical, dental, vision / health **reimbursement** monthly
TECHNOLOGY BENEFITS: New MacBook air with post-employment purchase options + $150 monthly cell phone/internet compensation
ADDITIONAL BENEFITS THROUGH GUSTO: FSA/HSA, Gusto Wallet, CashOut
#workfromanywhere life — work wherever makes you happy, and share your travels with us on Slack. You have the freedom to live the life you want, outside of an office, when at First Page.
Freedom to not feel micromanaged, get your work done, let your expertise shine, give your expert opinion and improve our processes and work.
We are not slogging away in an office all day, so we’re all a bit more relaxed and this shows through our daily attitudes. No passive-aggressive emails here.
We pay the compensation that you deserve that allows you to step away from a corporate paycheck with the funds needed for healthcare, savings and more.
We believe strongly in a great WFH life, so you’ll get yearly stipend for your subscription to Spotify so you can crank tunes while working. Bonus points if you create a playlist for First Page team members to enjoy.
It’s important to have a comfortable, ergonomic home office. Once a year, we’ll send you $300 to upgrade your home office: standing desk or new tech! [ LEADERSHIP TEAM - HEAD & ABOVE]
If you refer employees to us that we hire to work more than 30 hours a month, we’ll send you a $500 Airbnb gift card for your next travel adventure — on us.
Every quarter, we pick a business book to read as a group, send the book to you, and then meet via video call to have an informal, fun discussion.
Once you’ve officially joined the First Page team, we’ll send you a comfy T-shirt to wear with underwear at your computer (just keep your Zoom camera off if you stand up, please).
Stick around for a year, and you’ll receive a special gift in the mail from Wanderers Travel Co. as an appreciation for your all your hard work.
We’re always thinking about ways to make our (remote) culture stand out, and some of the ways we do that is with virtual events (wine tasting) or in-person events (COVID-permitting).
Once a FP teammate, you will have the opportunity to grow with us and come on as a FTE with our reimagined 32-hour work week + competitive pay.
It is our MISSION to be a place where people can live their best remote lifestyle — gaining time freedom and balance from the office job slog.
It is our VISION to be a trailblazing leader for fully distributed companies with team members across the globe, working synchronously and asynchronously.
💆🏻♀️ Be Balanced: We balance work + life. Work the hours that work for you, vacation/travel often, don’t expect to hear from leadership/bosses on evenings or weekends, but be accessible during U.S. business hours.
🗣 Practice Radical Candor: Care about your teammates while giving candid feedback to those who work for you (or who those you work for) on how we can all be better at our job. Over communicate to bridge location gaps. Share your needs, suggestions, WINS, project status, inability to make a deadline, etc.
📈 Deliver Results: We are focused on ROI and growth of traffic, leads and revenue. Own your analytics. Show results.
💡 Have Strategic Vision: We are experts in our industry. Experience freedom to not feel micromanaged, get your work done, let your expertise shine, give your expert opinion and improve our processes and work.
🎯 Hit Deadlines: Deliver work when promised. Communicate in Asana when blocked.
🤝Respect Colleagues: Respect everyone’s time: show up for meetings and finish your work by the Asana deadline, don’t “go dark,” and if going to miss a deadline or meeting, communicate to the appropriate person.
It is of utmost importance for us at First Page to foster a work environment that promotes diversity, equity and inclusion — everyone has equal footing with all of our job openings and our team reflects a mix of different races, ethnicities, genders, ages, religions, and sexual orientations. With a team coming from a breadth of different backgrounds, we believe we are set up to provide our clients with the best 360-degree view on marketing strategy because everyone has differences in education, personalities, skill sets, experiences, and knowledge bases. Furthermore, we make the following commitments at First Page in support of diversity and inclusion:
First Page is a woman-owned business, we will always have more women on our leadership team than men, and more than 50 percent of our entire team is female. Are you a strong female with bold opinions? We'd love to welcome you to the team.
Our goal is to have our team represent a minimum of 30 percent LGBTA (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender/Transsexual, and Asexual) and BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color). We also believe STRONGLY at First Page that Black Lives Matter — to put our money where our mouths are, we donate one large lump sum a year to BLM and an additional smaller ongoing monthly contribution.
Our founder is committed to continuously doing the work to be an ally to undersupported and underrepresented diversity groups throughout the globe. She is a member of the Small Agency Collective for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion where she focuses on discussions and trainings for promoting diversity, equity and inclusion in marketing agencies, including First Page. She also has one opening a quarter to mentor black marketers who are interested in advancing their marketing career or starting their own agency. If you're interested, contact her at hello at first page strategy dot com.
We will also always take applications for our roles that are filled, but could need future filling depending on team changes:
How has your experience set you up to make you the perfect person for the role?
Tell us about a project that you led/completed that demonstrates our requirements listed above: what were the results?
What will you contribute to our small boutique agency of ~25 remote marketers?
