About Us

First Page Strategy is a global growth marketing agency founded by Jeanna Barrett. We partner with digital-first companies looking to achieve high-volume, sustainable growth. FPS is a fully remote agency that operates with the belief that talented people can achieve amazing results from anywhere. We don’t just hire the best people in <insert major metropolis here>, we hire the best people, no matter where they live. Our clients receive award-winning work from our team located in big cities like San Francisco, Melbourne, Los Angeles, London, and New York, as well as less-traveled spots like Roatan, Colombo, Sartell, and Mississauga. We don’t just spout rhetoric, we fully live and promote the #workfromanywhere lifestyle. Before going any further, make sure you read our Remote Jobs page to fully understand our culture.

At FPS, we believe that allyship and education are crucial to building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment, remote or otherwise. We have purposefully put our DE&I beliefs before the job description because if we don’t align here then we just won’t jive. Please take the time to learn more about our DE&I initiatives.

About this role

Welcome to the coolest fully remote job where you get to be a BIG contributor in a growing business that is passionate about marketing, remote lifestyle, adventure, and work/life balance! As an SEO Expert, you’ll own SEO strategy for one of First Page’s biggest clients, leading a team of four in growing organic traffic and revenue. Great SEO is at the heart of everything we do at First Page, so we need someone in this role who gets excited about providing searchers with the content they’re looking for and maximizing the search visibility of our client. To be successful in this role, you’ll need to stay up to date on SEO trends, live and breathe both technical and content SEO, and love digging into Analytics and ranking data. You’ll have full ownership of the SEO strategy and implementation with the support of a team that can help you move fast and drive real results.

As the SEO Expert you will be responsible for:

  • Own SEO strategy and implementation for First Page’s largest client, ensuring organic growth goals and metrics are met and that strategy is adjusted as needed

  • Manage an SEO team of 4 pros and specialists, helping them deliver outstanding results for our clients while also supporting them in their professional development

  • Own SEO reporting and analysis, monitoring KPIs and communicating changes to the Head of Organic Channel Growth

  • Contribute to client presentation decks to ensure your KPIs and focus projects are communicated and present to client directly when needed

  • Optimize landing page, video, infographic, and blog post content for keyword priorities and maximum search visibility as needed

  • Provide content recommendations based on search volume, keyword research, and search intent data

  • Provide regular competitive analysis to keep our client at the top of their industry

  • Work with our Technical SEO Pro to ensure client’s site meets appropriate site health, page speed, and accessibility metrics

  • Serve as the “SEO voice” on larger marketing projects, helping to balance SEO with the needs of the product, UX, content, and brand teams

  • Collaborate with the content and UX teams as we rewrite website content, ensuring that any changes preserve and improve our organic rankings

  • Understand the marketing funnel and Organic Search’s role in contributing to leads at top, middle and bottom — work with the Head of Organic Channel Growth to report on the effectiveness of our SEO strategy and make changes to drive more revenue

  • Understand how SEO results are driven by content and assist the content team in building effective content calendars and landing pages that speak to visitors’ search needs

  • Collaborate with our Content, Social, and Lead Gen teams to develop cross-channel campaigns that increase organic traffic, links/shares, and revenue

  • Understand and build strategies around the relationship between Organic Search and Paid Search, maximizing client results through testing, analysis, and implementation

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 5-10 years of previous experience developing and implementing SEO strategy

  • Experience managing a team

  • Experience with content creation and balancing the needs of SEO with good UX

  • Advanced understanding of both technical SEO and content optimization

  • Up-to-date on SEO trends and best practices, including video SEO, schema, and accessibility

  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills

  • High attention to detail, sense of ownership, and dedication to accuracy / quality

  • Strong, data-driven problem resolution skills, including the ability to identify and define problems, collect data, analyze data, build spreadsheets, manipulate data to show trends/results, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions on paths to improvement

  • Technology-savvy, with the ability to learn quickly and juggle tasks in ClickUp, use mobile as necessary, and effectively use Zoom, Slack, and other online tools

  • A flexible attitude at a small, growing team as team and responsibilities internally shift

  • A willingness to be part of a fully remote team and care about who you work with on the other side of the computer — participation in team building video calls/events, Slack conversations, etc.

  • Must be available between the 10am-2pm CT hours (Slack or email for questions, but don’t have to be “at your desk” during those hours, necessarily)

Compensation Package:

Minimum annual salary of $90,000. You may also be entitled to receive a bonus and are entitled to benefits. See below for our standard outlined benefits for FTE + Extended team members.

First Page Full-Time Benefit Package

When you join First Page as a full-time employee, we offer a competitive benefit package for you. First and foremost, we are reimagining what it means to be “full time,” and don’t believe in the outdated 40-hour, 5-day work week. We believe in more of a 32-hour work week, and how you work those are up to you. Work in the early mornings or the way late night — work during a “work week” Monday through Friday, or your weekends if you prefer it more quiet. Work from a house with a cat and mouse, work from a box with a fox, work here, work there and #workfromanywhere.

We're building out our benefit package now (as a young company) and are planning to provide the standard benefit package as a base:

  • HEALTH BENEFITS: Medical, dental, vision & life

  • VACATION BENEFITS: Unmanaged vacation and personal days
  • TECHNOLOGY BENEFITS: New MacBook air with post-employment purchase options + $150 monthly cell phone/internet compensation

#workfromanywhere life — work wherever makes you happy, and share your travels with us on Slack. You have the freedom to live the life you want, outside of an office, when at First Page.

Freedom to not feel micromanaged, get your work done, let your expertise shine, give your expert opinion and improve our processes and work.

We are not slogging away in an office all day, so we’re all a bit more relaxed and this shows through our daily attitudes. No passive-aggressive emails here.

We pay the compensation that you deserve that allows you to step away from a corporate paycheck with the funds needed for healthcare, savings and more.

We believe strongly in a great WFH life, so you’ll get yearly stipend for your subscription to Spotify so you can crank tunes while working. Bonus points if you create a playlist for First Page team members to enjoy.

It’s important to have a comfortable, ergonomic home office. Once a year, we’ll send you $300 to upgrade your home office: standing desk or new tech! [ LEADERSHIP TEAM - HEAD & ABOVE]

If you refer employees to us that we hire to work more than 30 hours a month, we’ll send you a $500 Airbnb gift card for your next travel adventure — on us.

Every quarter, we pick a business book to read as a group, send the book to you, and then meet via video call to have an informal, fun discussion.

Once you’ve officially joined the First Page team, we’ll send you a comfy T-shirt to wear with underwear at your computer (just keep your Zoom camera off if you stand up, please).

Stick around for a year, and you’ll receive a special gift in the mail from Wanderers Travel Co. as an appreciation for your all your hard work.

We’re always thinking about ways to make our (remote) culture stand out, and some of the ways we do that is with virtual events (wine tasting) or in-person events (COVID-permitting).

Once a FP teammate, you will have the opportunity to grow with us and come on as a FTE with our reimagined 32-hour work week + competitive pay.

“Working for First Page as a digital marketer is such a rush — I get to work with innovative technology clients and a group of bad-ass marketers across the globe. Best of all, we’re not new to the remote work life. We were built this way — every day I’m learning new skills and collaborating with super smart marketers from all corners of the world who help me grow. There’s truly never a dull work day.”
