OVERVIEW OF THE OPPORTUNITY

First Page is a global marketing collective founded by Jeanna Barrett. We are not your traditional marketing agency. First Page is a collection of remote experts focused on data-driven growth marketing for tech & SaaS companies looking to increase online traffic and revenue. First Page is also a preferred HubSpot Agency Partner. We believe in building a virtual team of talented marketing experts to provide our clients with the highest quality work, while at the same time providing our contractors with the freedom of a remote #workfromanywhere lifestyle. OUR EXPECTATIONS
& YOUR TIME

At First Page, we only hire full-time consultants/1099 employees not already committed to an office job and LOVE to support other remote workers & digital nomads looking to build a career with a stable, long-term client. Our best remote employees see themselves as a true partner in First Page’s business as a HubSpot Agency Partner, and are interested in growing as we take on more clients. We want someone who is willing to become an extension of the First Page team and standard, and an extension of our clients’ internal teams. However, at this time, this is *not* a full-time role — so you must be prepared to work part time, or to supplement with other clients.

This UX Content Expert role requires regular daily Asana and Slack communication; integration into our 20-person marketing team and hands-on client work; management of all Asana Inbox/Tasks and First Page Email; monthly deliverables and reporting; complete management of all Content UX Strategy; weekly deliverables; and a lot of collaboration with cross-team members, specifically our SEO, Product, Content, Design, Brand and CRO teams. The commitment would be ~40-hour retainer a month with room to grow into additional First Page clients, if interested. Full retainer contract will start in August 2021 and extend throughout the year, renewable on January 1, 2022.

YOUR JOB DUTIES

UX CONTENT STRATEGY

  • Collaborate with SEO team and writers to incorporate Content UX best practices into rewrite of the website for First Page’s biggest client (600+ pages, but likely focus on top 50 for 2021)

  • Integrate existing work on user personas and intent paths into UX guidance for content creators

  • Take ownership of a project restructuring client’s informational content into a user-friendly resource center

  • Ensure every page is delivering user-centered website content that is useful, useable, enhancing website functionality, accessible, structurally sound, and easy to navigate and follow

  • Own implementation of Content UX best practices on First Page projects, providing writers and designers with wireframes, mockups, examples, guidance, and QA as needed.

  • Lead any necessary usability testing and user research, from recommendations to execution to analysis of results. 

  • Make recommendations on information architecture, navigational elements, and accessibility to ensure user-centered website content

  • Build out sets of core content modules, core content types and workflow rules/guidelines for all cross-functional teams to use and follow.

  • Define measurement of project and success metrics for UX projects, ie: customer support tickets, conversion

STRATEGY & ANALYTICS

  • Work with other First Page Experts in SEO, content, branding, and other channels to develop effective strategy and process for website rewrite
     
  • Understand how content, UX, SEO, branding, and conversion must work together to create effective, user-centered content that drives results

  • Be able to focus projects on achieving client goals

  • Measure and report on results from UX content changes

  • We are a data-and-results-driven online marketing company, so it won’t work if you’re not analytical and used to reporting on your channel.

OTHER/ADMIN

  • Be available for 1-2 calls per week with team and/or client

  • Communicate daily/weekly remotely via Slack and Asana + weekly/monthly check-in calls with the Head of Organic Channel Growth

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have at least 5-10+ years of previous experience managing UX/Content projects

  • Strong project management and communication skills 

  • Analytical mindset

  • Understanding of the basics of digital marketing channels, including content marketing, SEO, PPC, lead gen, and email

  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills

  • High attention to detail and dedication to accuracy / quality

  • Full-time freelancer/consultant and independent contractor (a 1099 employee)

  • A willingness to be part of a fully remote team and care about who you work with on the other side of the computer — participation in team building video calls, Slack conversations, etc.

  • Must be available between the 10am-2pm CT hours (Slack or email for questions, but don’t have to be “at your desk” during those hours, necessarily)
